he region of Murcia form the south-eastern corner of Spain. It is bordered by Andalacia to the south, Valancia to the north, Castile La Mancha to the east and has a coast onto the Mediterranean sea. The climate is hot in the summer, mild by the coast in the winter and colder inland. Despite being almost as southerly as Andalucia, the region is less frequently visited, although it is still popular, particularly in the summer.

Places to see include Cartagena with its Roman theatre, the medieval town of Lorca with its Easter Week processions and the many castles of the interior, although it has to be said that most people come here for the Mar Menor and the beaches along the Costa Calida.

A large number of privately owned villas and apartments here mean that there are plenty of places to rent direct both at the luxury and more affordable ends of the market. Large villas for big groups are not paricularly common, so be sure to book early!
