Nestling on the side of a hill with tranquil views overlooking the Lot River Valley, 12th century chateau Laroque-Toirac and our pretty stone village of Ambeyrac this tastefully restored cottage has patios from which you can relax and enjoy the sunny southerly aspect and the magnificent views to the west.

The Property

 
Benefit from the warmth of the south west weather in stunning surroundings of valleys with rocky cliffs and colourful wild plateaux. The Lot valley is a paradise for walkers, road and mountain bike enthusiasts with walks and rides from the door. Ideally situated between many riverside market towns full of history and beautiful architecture. 
Accommodation includes two large bedrooms (1 twin, 1 double) and bathroom with exposed beams and stonework throughout. Downstairs is open plan with a spacious lounge with huge inglenook fireplace including log burner and radiators (ideal for cosy autumn/winter breaks). Stonework, wood and plaster all feature in the delightful kitchen/dining area with south facing window. From the patios you can enjoy the sunny southerly aspect and the magnificent views to the west across the Lot Valley - ideal for barbeques and generally relaxing! 
Throughout the summer the area is bustling with different events including music festivals (eg Africajarc at the end of July), International Fireworks competition (half an hour away), village Fétes, brocantes and night markets. Activities nearby include canoeing on the célé, the Lot, the Tarn and the Aveyron rivers; swimming (public pools 10 miles, river swimming nearby);horse riding; biking (excellent mountain biking tracks all around); bird watching; visiting the prehistoric caves at Lacave, Pech Merle or Foissac and others; enjoying the local villages and colourful markets; and of course visiting the better known hilltop and cliffside towns or Rocamadour, St Cirq Lapopie, Cordes Sur Ciel and Najac to name but a few. Plenty of local centres offer organised rock climbing and potholing in addition to the above activities.  
Our village has a small shop/boulangerie that is open daily as well as an excellent butchers open 3 times a week.

Both bedrooms are up on the first floor along with the bathroom. They are comfortable & attractive rooms in which we have tried to keep as much character as possible with the stone walls and oak beams.

Notes on Facilities:
You should find everything you need to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable but if not we are on hand to help out with the loan of extras if needed such as an iron & ironing board etc where we can. 
We say not ideal for small children as the patio is raised above the level of the lane with only a low wall before a 10ft drop so we worry about possible accidents.

Ideally situated between many riverside market towns full of history and beautiful architecture there is certainly a good choice of places to go be it for visiting, shopping or eating out within a half hours drive. The nearest being 15 to 20 minutes away. 
As the village is off any main roads it is lovely an peaceful, pretty free from traffic yet large enough to feel alive and authentically french. 
The nearest bar/restaurant is directly across the river from here at 4kms by road. 
'Ambeyrac' is 50 minutes from our nearest airport (Rodez) which is serviced by Ryanair and the next nearest is Toulouse at an hour & a half away. 
If you choose to drive down you can allow 8 hours from Dieppe or about 9 hours from Calais/Boulogne.
