Olive Grove apartment is a bright, modern, one bedroom, self-catering holiday home of 50 sq/mtrs. It is set on the edge of the olive groves near a small hillside village, half way between Kalamata and Stoupa in the Messinia region of the Peloponnese. With the sea to the west (so you should get some spectacular sunsets) and the Taigetos mountains to the east you have superb all round views.

The Property
Olive Grove apartment was built in 2004 and has an open-plan living room and kitchen/diner. There is a double bedroom with twin beds and a double sofa-bed in the lounge. The bedroom also has a wardrobe and small dressing table and stool. The fully tiled shower room with toilet and wash hand basin has a modern standard of plumbing. There is a small patio area for outdoor meals and shady spots on the adjoining terraces in the garden to relax in. Linen is changed on Sunday and Wednesday.
There are excellent tavernas only 5 minutes drive down the hill in the charming fishing village of Kitries, and the gently sloping Santava beach is just 5kms away.
This is rural Greece at its best, where the villagers wave to you as they pass by on their way to work in the olive groves or to tend their sheep and goats. The nightlife here is listening to the cicadas and watching the lights of the fishing boats in the bay.
This beautiful area of the Peloponnese begs to be explored, with the historic sites of Mystra, Messini and Olympia all easily reached for a day trip, and walking the Taigetos gorges is not to be missed.
Olive Grove apartment has every thing you need for a great holiday, and its position and stunning views make it a very special place for you to relax and unwind.

The light and airy bedroom in our holiday apartment has twin beds, a small dressing table with hair dryer, a wardrobe and a bedside table. There is a double sofa bed in the lounge and a cot is also available.All linen is supplied, including beach towels, and changed twice a week.There is a double "English" electric socket on the dressing table for your use.The windows throughout the apartment are fitted with shutters so sleeping with the windows open and the shutters closed (night time or siesta!) gives you fresh air and the minimum number of bugs.

Our modern, self-catering holiday apartment was newly built in 2004 and the fully tiled shower room with toilet and wash hand basin has been built and finished to modern standards.
All towels, including beach towels, are supplied and changed twice weekly.
Hot water is supplied by immersion heater and not reliant on solar power.

*** Olive Grove apartment is situated on the edge of the small rural village of Kalianeika half way between Kalamata and Stoupa in the Messinia region of the Peloponnese. It is 3km up the hill from the pretty harbour of Kitries and 5km from the gently sloping shingle beach of Santava. Kalamata is 17km away and has a colourful, bustling sea front which runs for 4km from the port, past countless tavernas and hotels to the Filoxenia Hotel. The popular, sandy beaches of Stoupa and Kalogria are 20km away , after passing through the picturesque town of Kardamili with its traditional Mani tower houses in the old town.
There are direct flights to Kalamata from various airports in the UK and Scandinavia between early May to late October.
There are worldwide flights all year round into Athens, travelling on to Kalamata by hire car or coach (around an easy 4 hour scenic drive from the airport)
The hillside, rural setting of the apartment means that you will need a car. Hire car collection and drop off at the airport can be pre-booked from the UK or we can recommend a local company.
There are various routes across Europe to bring you down to the Italian ports of Venice, Ancona, Brindisi and Bari, all of which have ferry connections to Patras in the Peloponnese. From there we are about a 3 hour drive away (a route from Patras will be supplied)

Our prices include the following:
"Meet and greet" at Kalamata airport. All towels and bed linen (changed twice weekly). Electricity and water charges. A "welcome" pack of basic provisions to get you started.
Payment:
A non refundable deposit of 10% of total rental is required for all bookings made more than 2 weeks in advance of arrival date . Full payment is required 2 weeks before arrival.
Payment is to be by a cheque drawn on either a Sterling or Euro account. Details of where to send your payment will be sent to you with your booking confirmation. Discounts apply for stays of more than 2 weeks.
Your stay can be as long or short as you wish, but flights direct from the UK arrive on Thursdays and Sundays.
Vacation of the apartment on departure days is flexible and is dependant on the next visitors arrival. We will arrange this with you during your stay and would ask for your co-operation.
Olive Grove apartment is a self-contained holiday home and is part of Olive Grove House. The owners, Martin and Jackie live here permanently, and will be here to greet you on arrival. This means that you can enjoy the independence, peace and privacy of a self-catering holiday home, knowing that someone is on hand for extra info if needed. Kalianeika has no shop or taverna, but fresh fruit and vegetables are available from the vans that visit the village most days. There are small shops in Stavropigio and large supermarkets in Kalamata and Stoupa.Having a floor area of 50sq/mtrs, the apartment is pleasantly spacious and as the above pages show it is fully equipped for up to 4 guests.
