Vaux is a quiet hamlet 2kms from the town of Chateauneuf la Foret, ideal for walks in the forest. La Glycine is a large double room on the first floor in main house full of original features. Own shower room and toilet next to the bedroom. Les Petits Moineaux is a newly developed area in the barn especially attractive to a family or two couples who would like a little extra space. All meals are home cooked served in the kitchen.

The Property

 
Your stay here will allow you to totally unwind, get away from all the pressures of everyday life. Here there is no traffic to speak of, you are free to wander to your heart's content. As a retired cook, I am always aware of how important it is to eat well and sleep well. To this end I raise our own hens and rabbits for the table and grow most of our own vegetables. Whatever appears on the menu for the day, it will always be in season and freshly cooked. During the day, you can go sightseeing to any of the beautiful nearby medieval towns, go fishing, play golf, swim in lake at Chateauneuf la Foret, get to know the locals in the bars and cafés. The scenery always takes people by surprise as we are surrounded by hills and valleys, lakes and forests.

The bedroom (named La Glycine) has a king-size bed plus two other full size singles which are seen as a banquette-lit when not in use. 
Les Petits Moineaux has a large living room plus a double bedroom and is separated from the main house by a connecting door.

This king size bedded room is on the first floor in the main farmhouse. There are two extra single beds available in the same room as well as a travel cot. The wc and shower rooms are separate from the bedroom but are private to guests occupying the bedroom.

This is a new area in the attached barn where we are creating a self-catering gite. For the moment, we can offer family accommodation which comprises a double bedroom with a toilet and shower room next door on the first floor and downstairs in the living room we have a double sofa bed and a single bed. The living room is large and airy, there is a fridge and DVD playing facilities as well as board games and books available.

*** Our nearest town, Chateauneuf la Foret, is situated 30 kms south-east of Limoges, 17 kms south-west of Eymoutiers and 20 kms east of St. Leonard de Noblat. This is a rural part of France where the days are easily filled but evening entertainment is limited to local events unless you travel into Limoges.
