*** The Hunnypot is located on a private estate just off the main St Austell to Mevagissey road. It is 200 metres from the harbour front, so enjoys easy access to the village but without the stress of navigating narrow Cornish streets.
Mevagissey has a wide range of restaurants and pubs, many offering live entertainment. The famous Mevagissey Male Voice Choir performs on the quay and in St Andrews church. Fishing boats operate from this working fishing village, and fresh fish, lobsters etc are always available from the quayside outlets. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are 4 kms away and the world famous Eden Project is 15Kms. The harbour at Charlestown has featured in many movies and TV series, and is host to the square riggers Earl of Pembroke and Kaskalot (featured in Mel Gibson's film Apocalypto). St Austell features a recently built state of the art multiscreen cinema, and just outside of the town is the Clay Country Adventure Park and Heritage Centre.
Mevagissey has a free Museum of Mevagissey life since the 18th century, and a free Marine Aquarium. The World of Model Railways is in Mevagissey also.
The Mevagissey to Fowey ferry gives a very different type of day out, when the conditions permit, with basking sharks, sunfish, dolphins, and occasionally turtles, often swiming in the area.
