There are lots of monasteries nearby which are full of historical interest and the rich history of Veliko Tarnovo, the old Bulgarian Capital is only 10km from PJVilla.

*** PJVilla is located in the wonderfullly calm village of Dragijevo, set in the foothills of the Elena Balkan Mountain Range and only 10km from the old capital of Bulgaria, Veliko Tarnovo. PJVilla is ideal for those who love the countryside, bird watching, walking, fishing and cycling, yet also enjoy restaurants and nightlife. 
 
Only 20km away is the lake at Yavkovsy near Elena in the Stara Plalnina mountains, where the views are wonderful. You can saver the taste of the local speciality, Elena Svinski Butt (Cured Pork) at the numerous traditional Bulgarian restaurants. 
 
There are four large outdoor swimming pools within 15km of PJVilla and all have cafe's, restaurants, bars and open spaces to enjoy those hot summer days. All are very inexpensive. 
 
The rich history of Veliko Tarnovo with its medeival fortress, museums and monasteries is very interesting and there are many restaurants, bars, nightclubs and casinos which will take care of all your entertainment needs. 
 
Inexpensive shopping can be found in nearby Gorna Orahovitsa, only 6km away. There is a regular bus service from the village. There are street cafes set around the square with it's water fountain where you can sit and watch the world go by. 
 
In the village there are a few bars where you can meet and talk to local people who are very kind and friendly. The daily procession of goats, sheep and cows travelling to and from pasture is a sight not to be missed.
