*** Porto Rafti is conveniently placed near the Athens International Airport (12 km) where the Attiki Odos (motor-way) starts with connections to the metro, while the thriving and exciting Athens with Acropolis, the museums, old Plaka and the flea market is a mere 35 km away. 
 
The villa is set in a quiet residential area about 1.1 km from the busy sea front. There is a mini-market (150 meters) and a traditional Greek taverna, (about 250 meters).  
 
Porto Pafti has many beautiful sandy beaches, restaurants and sea-front fish tavernas that serve traditional Greek food and delicious local wine.  
All main local amenities such as 'Avlaki beach' one of the best in Attica, open-air cinemas, clubs, bars, pattisseries, coffee shops, doctors, chemists, supermarkets, designer boutiques, live entertainment, tennis, horse riding etc, are within a few minutes drive.  
The area is backed by impressive mountains while the forest of Kouvaras with its many monasteries is a few minutes away. You can sample a variety of water sports along the coast, surf and have yachting lessons near Lavrio, day visit many islands from nearby ports and/or hire a private yacht with captain to cruise for the day, with drinks inclusive. 
 
Easy day trips to ancient sites and temples nearby are: 
• the impressive temple of Poseidon in Cape Sounio  
• the temple of Artemis in Vravrona 
• the burial mound and museum of Marathon, and of course 
• the Parthenon of Athens and the many museums.

• Athens Festival, at the magnificent ancient open-air theatre of Herod Atticus Odeon (built in 161AD)  
(symphony orchestras, classical drama and dance, operatic performances from June to the end of September).

• Greek Dance festival at Dora Stratou on the Philopappus Hill from May to September
