The Property

 
Established in 1993 « La Renardais » is an elegant Bed & Breakfast (3 stars) in Brittany France. The accommodation comprises 4 spacious en-suite bedrooms with all modern comforts in this stylish 19th century country house, which has recently been tastefully modernised to preserve its character; you can see the original beams and stonework in the dining room, together with a traditional stone fireplace in the lounge.  
 
Situated near the river Rance it is ideal for visiting Mont St. Michel/St Malo and the beautiful medieval riverside town of Dinan. The surrounding countryside is peaceful and lush; enjoy a leisurely breakfast on the private terrace set in a lovely secluded floral garden. 
 
For your extra comfort there is full central heating heating/double glazing, and private parking for the security of your car. In addition each bedroom has its own tea and coffee making facilities so that you can enjoy that early morning cuppa. A warm welcome awaits you here. Guests come back – often.

Just 40 minutes from La Renardais you will find one of the Wonders of the Modern World - LE MONT SAINT-MICHEL - a veritable font of religious, historical, and architectural interest. An absolute must to visit during the day for it's spectular views, and also at night time in the summer when they have their wonderful ""son et lumière"" concerts. 
 
The medieval riverside town of Dinan, once home of the Duchess Anne ""Queen of Brittany"" and her champion Prince Duguesclin who fought and defeated the Duke of Canterbury here in the 14th century, is steeped in history, as is the famous pirate city of Saint-Malo - ""Cité des Corsaires"". 
 
Even today there are many artists, writers, sculptors and other craftsmen still at work where you can go and see them LIVE in their own studios - the ""rue Jerzual"" which leads from the port of Dinan to the medieval town centre is well known in this respect. 
 
And there is so much more... with music being equally important. There are many concerts where you can sample Breton, Celtic, and also classical music. As a footnote, Chopin's last pupil, Count Kowalski lived, wrote, and played his music in his Chateau at Plouër, le Chêne Vert. 
 
Last but not least a host of restaurants, including the renowned Breton ""Crêperies"", to suit all tastes (from gourmets to gourmands) and budgets.

Established in 1993, La Renardais, an elegant 19th century stone built country house, is situated on the outskirts of Plouër-sur-Rance, a pretty riverside Breton village. Being in a picturesque location, we are the perfect guest house for a range of holiday types from weekend breaks to the perfect French summer holiday. The house has been restored by us both to preserve its original charm, and to offer modern-day comforts to our guests. 
 
Up the original chestnut staircase (painstakingly restored by Suzanne) there are 4 spacious and well appointed bedrooms which provide a relaxing ambiance for your holidays; the firm beds are especially comfortable. Warm carpeting, together with lace curtains, quality bed linen and towels, all add a further touch of luxury. 
 
Each bedroom has its own private en-suite bathoom with electric shaver points. Choose between single beds, or king-size doubles; additional beds can be installed to accommodate a family. There are many extras including hairdryers, heated towel rails, and additionnal spare sockets for all the modern day electric gadgetry. (NB: French electric sockets differ from most other countries; however, the electric supply is like the UK ie 240v). In addition, each bedroom has its own tea-making facility. 
 
Guests also have access to a comfortable lounge. A good night's sleep is assured and in the morning, in fine weather, you can enjoy breakfast on the terrace in our lovely floral garden.
