The Property
The Village House, St Sever.
Our garden terrace is an ideal place to relax and unwind with a glass of wine.
You can walk to the shops, pubs,etc from the house in three minutes!
Accommodation
The Village House comprises two well-appointed apartments, reached via an outside granite stairway leading onto the terrace.
Each apartment is well equipped and has a large lounge, two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the second with two singles. Shower room with toilet and vanity basin.
Bed linen and towels are provided.The fully fitted kitchen has a cooker, washing machine, fridge, microwave, in fact everything you will need for your stay.The lounge is furnished with sofa and armchairs and has a Satellite TV & DVD. From the apartments you step out onto the roof garden terrace, which has table and chairs / umbrella / gas barbeque.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome at THE VILLAGE HOUSE
Our prices include gas, water and electricity. There is plenty of free parking adjacent to the house.
For those arriving with babies and children there is a cot available, we also have fold down extra beds, a cool box for picnics is available in each apartment. There are bicycles available free of charge.

The outdoor public swimming pool, open July and August is 5 minutes walk from The Village House. (A real favourite with the local children in the summer).
Close by is the town of Villedieu les Poeles which is famous for it's bell making and copper pans. You can visit the bell foundry and watch the craftsmen at work. There is a large market every Tuesday morning that is good for browsing all the local produce.

Excellent Zoo, at Champrepus, just beyond Villedieu - 20 minutes drive.
The magnificent National Horse Stud at St Lo, with guided tours and parades (30 minutes drive).
Vire town with lots of shops and a large hypermarket, market day is on Friday morning, 15 minutes away.
Clean, safe beaches along the coast north and south of Granville, 40 minutes away.
Slightly further afield but are some lovely places to visit, such as the world heritage site of Le Mont St Michel, ( 2nd most visited attraction in France) Rennes, Bayeaux, St Malo and Fougeres and the lovely towns of Dinan, Dinard and Bagnoles de Lorne.
The landing beaches such as Omaha Beach, Pointe du Hoc, the American Military Cemetery at Colleville sur Mer, the Canadian Memorial at Juno Beach, and other famous Normandy D-Day landing sites are only an hour's drive away.
Plus, day trips to the Channel Islands of Jersey and Guernsey.
If you are interested in antique hunting then there are many brocantes (antique/second hand) and salerooms in the area in which to while away many hours. There is a very large antique warehouse in the village.
For those more adventurous there are forest walks, canoeing and rafting, or for a more relaxing time why not try a day's fishing, only 5 minutes away at the lake in St Sever forest.

About Us
We are Leo and Jennifer Martin (we are in our fifties,plus vat!) from Ayr on the west coast of Scotland and we have spent most of the last two years in France.
Together we have many years experience and a wealth of knowledge in the hotel and hospitality business in the UK. We owned a Hotel in Ayr (grand victorian sandstone building) from 1996 until 2004 when we closed the doors and secured planning permission for 7 houses and then we proceeded to build them. We have retained the major portion of the magnificent victorian building. It is still our main family home.
We have spent the last 18 months renovating the former Stud farm/station in the centre of St Sever into two spacious holiday apartments, without altering the exterior of the building.
