*** The chalet is well positioned for both Summer and Winter, situated in the beautiful Vallee d'Aulps. The Chalet is situated in a sunny location in a small hamlet in the village of La Baume, approximately five minutes drive from St Jean D'Aulps. The location has good access for both Morzine (25 minutes by car) and Lake Leman (20 minutes by car). It is situated just over an hours drive from Geneva airport. The nearest skiing to the chalet is just 10 minutes away at the pretty ski domain of La Grande Terche, with access to the main linked Portes du Soleil ski domain being a 20 minute drive away at Ardent, or Morzine.
La Baume - In a privileged position halfway between lake Geneva and Morzine, the little village of la Baume has many trumps up its sleeve: - Trout fishing, in the Jotty lake and the river Dranse. - Hiking in the grandiose and precipitous setting of Mont Billat (1896m), by easy paths up to the pastoral Nifflon chapel and the grazing lands of the Pleney mountain. - For gourmands, don't forget the little detour by the beekeeper's chalet, where some of the best mountain honey can be found.
St Jean d'Aulps - Situated in the heart of the valley, the village inherited its name from the old French word for ""alpage"" meaning high mountain grazing land. Thanks to its Abbey and the monks who lived there, Saint Jean d'Aulps can claim to be the ancestor of all the surrounding villages. Those who like hiking can find here marvelous summits and combs : the Roc d'Enfer, the Graydon comb, the Roc de Tavaneuse and its lake, the Pic de la Corne and many more. With the growth of the skiing industry, Saint Jean d'Aulps has also become an important winter sports resort, which has many natural advantages for skiers. The Saint Jean d'Aulps Ski Domain has an excellent snow record, and is an integral part of the Portes du Soleil ski area.

Morzine
Situated mid-way between Mont Blanc and Lake Geneva, Morzine is stunning for Alpine scenery, nestled between forests and summits. Here life is leisurely, and the village has lost nothing of its original charm and Savoyard way of life.
Ideally placed right in the middle of the Portes du Soleil, Morzine is the gateway to a marvellous winter playground of 650 km of ski-slopes. In summer, these slopes become sign-posted footpaths for trekking and MTB. Not forgetting the miles of open spaces surrounding the ski-runs from where you can head off into the middle of nowhere…
Either for a few days or a longer holiday, both idlers and sports fans will find everything they need for a real break with family or friends - everything for a perfect, peaceful and pleasurable holiday. Sharing, laughing, playing, discovering, with loads of thrills, fresh air, great food and views. You’ll have a ball!
