The Property
La Pineda is a stylish and comfortable villa offering seating and dining facilities for 8 people. There is a covered terrace, ideal for breakfasting al fresco and for enjoying a glass of vino under the stars. The roof terrace boasts wonderful views and a quiet place to sit in the sun. The third terrace has sunbeds and a table for dining.
The villa is well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable holiday.
The owner of the villa lives close by and is happy to help with travel itineries, to recommend and make restaurant reservations, help with any problems which may arise and to do your shopping. She is also a cook and can provide delicious food for picnics, buffets and dinners - whatever you desire. Child-care can also be arranged.

The 2 double rooms are at the rear of the villa and have sea views. All rooms have fans and heating for the cooler months. We also provide mosquito nets for peace of mind, although generally they're not required here.

The villa is suitable for all year round due to the heating in every room. The owner can purchase logs for the open fire, on request.
The 3 terraces form the basis of the outside area; although there is a garden it is not suitable for playing on as it is on a slope.
The satellite TV is tuned to the UK and has BBC and ITV channels.

La Pineda is ideally located half way between the beautiful Blue Flag beach of Sa Riera (said to be the most beautiful on the Costa Brava) and the historic hillside town of Begur.
Sa Riera beach offers restaurants, bars and a beach shop for all your holiday purchases. All the facilities such as showers and toilets required for Blue Flag status have been recently installed and are kept in excellent condition, as is the beach itself. This beautiful beach can be accessed on foot from the villa in 10-15 minutes, taking a little longer to return up the 330 steps! Alternatively, you can drive there in 5 minutes and find ample parking. There are numerous fabulous coves and beaches along the coast.
Begur town, known as 'the jewel in the crown of the Costa Brava' boasts good restaurants, lively bars and the best boutique shopping around! The town is steeped in history - lovely architecture, winding streets and a ruined castle within easy walking distance. In the surrounding area there is a wealth of Medieval villages, all picture perfect, a photographers'dream!
The whole area offers numerous cultural and sporting activities. The famous Dali Museum in Figueres in 1 hours drive, as is the stunning walled city of Girona. Barcelona can be visited for a day via train in 1.5 hours. Throughout the year there are numerous fiestas and wonderful local markets.
La Pineda is ideally situated for golfers, there being 9 courses in the area, one of which is a PGA, and considered one of the best in Europe. Mountain biking and walking are popular activities here and we can arrange for you to go on guided trails with a local expert. Diving, horse riding sailing are also on offer locally.
Skiing too can be enjoyed as the Pyrenees slopes are 2-3 hours drive from Begur.

* A cheque for €300 (£200) ($400) will be requested on arrival which will act as a holding deposit against any breakages or damage; this will, of course, be returned if not needed. The Christmas holiday week will be charged at €830.
* If you are paying electronically from USA, please add $28 to the total due, as we are charged by the bank for these transactions.
* Please would vacating guests leave by 11.00 am on the day of their departure, so that the house can be thoroughly cleaned and left in good order for arriving guests. The house will be ready for guests by 4.00 pm.
La Pineda is set in a peaceful location within walking distance of both the beach and the town. It should be noted that the walk to the town is up a fairly steep hill so would not be suitable for the elderly, infirm or anyone very unfit. Anyone with a reasonable level of fitness would not have a problem with it.
Catering
This villa has the benefit of an in house chef who can provide picnics, dinners and lunches to suit your requirements. Many guests chose to book a Welcome Buffet for their arrival day; everything you requested will be in the 'fridge when you arrive........ all you need to do is open the wine! Due to the popularity of these buffets it is advisable to book these well in advance; please contact the owner for menu selections.
