TRAREGO and SURROUNDINGS 
 
Beautiful situated and sun kissed with a wonderful view of the lake, Trarego-Viggiona is made up three villages: Trarego, Cheglio and Viggiona. Just in Viggiona you can visit the 15th century secular church, national monument. The climate is particularly mild because of the position. Many opportunities for excursions and walks. In Trarego exists a vast range of hiking trails. 
 
Cannero Riviera is only 5 km away and its well kept beach allows many water sports. 
 
Cannobio is only 10 km away. It is a medieval village before the entrance of the Cannobina Valley. 
 
The Valle Cannobina is a valley starting from Lago Maggiore at the town of Cannobio, to reach Valle Vigezzo. 
 
The Val Grande National Park is situated near Lake Maggiore and it is the widest wild area in Italy. It's a one of a kind and out of this world valley, dominated by silence, where nature is the queen. It is a ""sanctuary"" that should be visited with absolute respect. 
 
Monte Zeda (2156m) is the highest peak of the ridge that close the west side of the Val Grande National Park separating by the Lake Verbano. It rises form the west shore of the Lake Maggiore for about 2000 meters as a large perfect pyramid visible from Milano and Pianura Padana. Monte Zeda is included in the Val Grande National Park. 
 
BOAT TRIPS ON LAKE MAGGIORE - FROM STRESA TO LOCARNO 
 
This boat itinerary covers the Northern part of Lake Maggiore, starts in Stresa and ends in Locarno, Canton Ticino Switzerland. This portion of boat trip takes about one hour forty five minutes with the hydrofoil, and about three hours with the normal boat.
