*** Dalyan is a picturesque village situated on the Dalyan River between the Mediterranean sea and the fresh water lake of Koygeciz. It is a conservation area renowned for its natural beauty, stork nesting and for the loggerhead turtles which nest on the nearby Iztuzu beach.
The town itself offers a perfect combination of sea, beach, fresh water lake and river, nestling in a mountain landscape and surrounded by cotton fields, pine trees and citrus groves.
The weather in Dalyan is very good from May until October and sometimes well into November and December!
There are lots of places of interest in the area including the ancient city of Caunos with its Lycian rock tombs, the sunken city of Kekova, Pamukkale with its world famous salt terraces, 12-island boat trip from nearby Gocek where you can enjoy many watersports.
Our villa is just a short walk or cycle ride from Dalyan town centre which is a very relaxed, informal and family friendly town. It has a wide range of restaurants, bars and shops with lots of the restaurants being on the riverside with lovely views up and down the river and over to the famous rock tombs which are spectacularly lit up at night.
The beach is a leisurely and relaxing 30 minute boat ride from Dalyan town centre or a short bus ride from the end of our road. The boat ride takes you through the reed beds and on down to the beautiful unspoilt Iztuzu Beach which is a conservation area and where loggerhead turtles have their nesting grounds. The bus ride takes you through Dalyan, round the lake, through little villages and up over the mountain where you have spectacular views of the river meandering down to the beach and only takes about 20 minutes. The buses leave at 30 minute intervals all day.
