The Property
Weardale Cottage is in the heart of the North Pennines, designated and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The dale is dotted with small villages, and offers fantastic walking and cycling, including the C2C cycle route and the Upper Weardale Way, also the Pennine Way.
This characterful cottage has many original features and is conveniently located in the village of Westgate-in-Weardale, immediately adjacent to the co-op/post office and yards from the local pub and the river Wear. Off-road parking is available, and a secluded cottage garden is a great sun-trap.

Weardale is situated in the North Pennines between the valleys of Tynedale and Teesdale. The cottage is approximately 30 miles from the A1, 12 miles from Northumberland, 15 miles from Cumbria and 20 miles from North Yorkshire. In the nearby market town of Stanhope (5 miles east) there are plenty of shops and pubs and an open-air heated swimming pool (May-September opening).
In the village of Westgate there is a shop with post office and a pub. There are several lovely walks immediately from the doorstep, as well as riverside trails along to the nearest villages of Eastgate and St John's Chapel.
