Welcome to our "rural retreat" holiday home in South West France. The main house has been renovated to a high standard and offers luxury accommodation in a quiet setting but with all facilities within 2 miles in the town of Lembeye. Set on a south-east facing hillside and surrounded by an acre of meadow the property offers complete privacy, peace and tranquility with an abundance of wildlife and lots of pleasant walks.

The Property

The property is part of a 17th Century farmstead set within an acre of meadow. 
Traditional quarry tile and marble floors downstairs and wooden floors upstairs. It is light and airy with fabulous views to the front and rear. The kitchen is very well equipped for catering inside and outside with a raclette machine and two barbeques, electric and charcoal. 
 
The courtyard is fully gated so is safe for children to play and gets the sun from 8am until at least 5pm and has shady areas too. 
 
In season, you are welcome to pick the ripe fruits from the trees, bushes and hedgerows, including, walnuts, hazelnuts, figs, cherries, blackberries and sloes. 
The meadow has two wildlife ponds and a lazy couple of hours can be spent watching the wildlife, dragonflies, frogs, newts and a miriad of beautiful birds and butterflies.

To relax, enjoy watching the night sky, with low light pollution the sky is a wonder to behold, especially with a glass of wine on a warm summer's evening!  
 
Once relaxed and refreshed, the area offers multiple choice trips.  
 
From December to March the Pyrenees offer the opportunity to ski in relative peace as the resorts are much less busy than the Alps.  
 
The vineyards of Madiran, Cotes de Gascogne, Gers and Jurancon are all within a short drive offering plenty of opportunities for a """"""""petit degustation"""""""". Argmanac is produced 30 miles to North and most welcome cellar door tastings and sales.  
The same applies to locally produced fine cheese, mainly made from ewes milk (brebis)  
 
Spectacular drives into the Pyrenees (50ml) and great walking with stunning views. Paragliding, Canyoning, Rafting, Mountain Biking and Fishing are available. A ride on Europe's """"""""highest train"""""""" at Artouste (May to September) is recommended.  
 
The seaside resorts of Biarritz, St.John de Luz and Hossegor, """"""""surf capital"""""""" are 80 miles to the West, the longest beach in Europe has spectacular dunes running all the way to Bordeaux.  
 
Just North of Biarritz are two of Europe's finest Golf Courses, Seignosse and Moliets, and many other good courses. More locally, Pau boasts the oldest Golf Club on continental Europe, and scenic courses at Lourdes and Bagneres de Bigorre.  
 
Pau boasts one of Europes best Steeplechase courses, The Tour de France runs through the area in July the town hosts some seriously good motor racing. Shopping, dining and taking in the sights of Pau is a delight.  
 
The world famous Jazz festival at Marciac is held over two weeks in August (www.jazzinmarciac.com/)  
 
The pilgrimage city of Lourdes with its famous basilica and caves is less than 45 minutes away. Following the claims that there were apparitions of Our Lady of Lourdes to Bernadette Soubirous in 1858, Lourdes has developed into a major place of Christian pilgrimage.
