You can spend your holiday as a large group (e.g. several families) in one big holiday home. Le Maine Menot offers your group exclusivity and privacy with all the facilities you need. The sleeping quarters with bathrooms are distributed over 4 separate parts of the house offering every family privacy for sleeping and showering. Outside, there is 500 m2 of paved terrace for you to enjoy. 
Reception: You are received on Le Maine Menot by a couple. They are all very pleasant couples who are looking after your stay. They clean, do necessary service visit, among other things to regulate the refuse and the swimming pool to check and your possible questions to answer. They speak 3 languages and there is a manual you meet a complete end. Because of large of the house and the luxury of all facilities, at arrival an instruction of ± 1 hour must you take into account. At the same time you receive the mobile number of your hostess. You can give them a call on expected arrival, certainly if it is going to be later then 16.00 hours. 
Next door: Salles Lavalette has nowadays a local restaurant/boutique/bar: La Cigale Charentaise! An excellent restaurant with a daily menu of 14/19/25 euro, child menu and vegetarian menu. In the summer evenings with music and tapas on the terrace delicious beer. For a dinner it's been recommended tot reserve a table in advance referring to Le Maine Menot.

The minor shop offers a small choice of basic things and vegetables and fruits. Also bread is available to be ordered a day in advance (phone: 0545 677640).

In addition, there is a conference room of 66 m2 which can be used for various purposes.  
Imagine this. A green waving landscape with beautiful places. The kingdom of the pineau, the foie gras, the magrets and the truffles; famous wine regions like the Médoc, Pomerol, St. Emilion, Cognac and Bergerac are close by.  
Le Maine Menot, a small 'hameau' (hamlet) of its own, is near the village Salles Lavalette at the Circuit Roman (ancient churches), not far from the beautiful villages of Aubeterre sur Dronne, Villebois Lavalette, Riberac and Montmoreau. Here you will find many markets, 'brocanteries' (jumble markets mainly selling old furniture), nice terraces, restaurants and supermarkets.  
Besides 'recreating the French way' as we like to call it, at Le Maine Menot itself, it is possible to go out for various activities. Within a range of 50 kms, you will find 9 and 18-hole golf courses, tennis courts, hourseback riding facilities, rowboat and bicycle rental possibilities and beautiful hiking routes.  
Angoulême (30 minutes) and Perigeux (one hour) are the two closest large cities. Bergerac, Bordeaux, Cognac, Poitiers and St Emilion are at about 1.5 hour driving distance.  
Having your own means of transportation is essential in this area as there is practically no public transport. Taxi services, however, are available.
