Our farmhouse 'Gite du Calme' is the ideal place for family and friends to have an totally relaxed self catering holiday, perfect for 6 adults 2 children. There is a spacious fully equipped kitchen/dining room with all the mod cons and a comfortable lounge. The two and a half acre garden has an 8x4m swimming pool with safety cover, badminton, 4m trampoline, swings, bicycles, BBQ and private parking.

The Property
Gite du Calme is a traditional Charantaise farmhouse, built in 1890 which sits in the middle of a two and a half acre garden surrounded by the Cognac vineyards and forest. The accommodation is the perfect holiday retreat and although rural we are just 11km drive from two supurb towns of Cognac and Saintes, two cosmopolitan towns full of everything from restaurants, tourists attractions, music festivals, exhibitions and of course shopping! In the Gite garden there is an 8 x 4m swimming pool, badminton, 4m trampoline, and bicycles.
Gite du Calme is rented on a self catering weekly basis in July and August and at other times of the year it can be booked on a weekly basis or less. Alterntively we do B&B the rest of the year.

Gite du Calme holiday farmhouse is situated in the Charente Maritime, SW France. We are close to four airports, La Rochelle and Brodeaux is approx an hours drive, Poitier an hour and a half and Angouleme 40 minutes. For those of you coming by Ferry, St.Malo is just under 5 hours drive and from Calais approx 8 hours.
We are surrounded by many vibrant towns where throughout the summer there are many music festivals, and all sorts going on which can be found out by visiting our website www.giteducalme.com or the Cognac and Saintes tourist office sites.
