La Casa Colonica is situated in the small village “Vernazzano” nearby the highway that leads to Perugia and/or Siena. The very good position makes this original farmhouse very suitable for those who want to spend their holidays in a relaxing as well as a cultural way. Some of these most important art and culture cities of Tuscany and Umbrie like Perugia, Assisi, Spoleto, Gubbio, Siena, Florence, Cortona and many other smaller cities, rich of history and culture, are very easy to reach for day trips. This restored farmhouse, surrounded by vines and ancient olive groves, is an ideal and healthy place, in the middle of nature, for a lovely holiday!  
 
The apartments are simple but furnished with all comfort. In total 9 apartments, each with its own entrance, terrace or garden.  
 
The farmhouse has a family atmosphere, complety managed by the family Mezzetti who are also the owners, each member of the family having his own part of responsibility. The family produces their own wine and olive oil “extra vergine” since 1960.

La Casa Colonica is an old farmhouse situated at Vernazzano in one of the greenest valleys of Umbria, set in a delightful position between gently rolling hills, woods, olive groves, vineyards and cultivated fields. 
 
""The hamlet of Vernazzano, once an Etruscan dwelling place, was inhabited by poor fishermen and woodcutters, when it took its place in history due to Hannibal, who in June 217 B.C. defeated the Roman army led by the consul Caio Flaminio. 
The Battle of Trasimeno, is relived in a theatrical event which recreates the atmosphere and climate present in all war-type situations, of every period, the spectators find themselves participating in the action of the story being narrated. 
An adventure tour, by bus and on foot, full of emotion and theatrical sensations, in which the spectator, by interacting with the actors, become stars of the show. 
An enjoyable experience which can easily involve spectators of all nationalities, in fact, the actors express themselves in many languages."" 
 
The Rooms 
 
The farmhouse has been completely restored, maintaining the original architectural structures and is made up of: 
- five apartments with two bedrooms 
- two apartments with one bedroom 
 
Particular care has been taken in the restoration. Terracotta floor tiles and wooden beamed ceilings help to achieve a warm atmosphere. The apartments are very well furnished in country style with furnishings which reflect another age. Every residence has its own independent entrance and central heating, a lounge, kitchenette and bathroom with shower. 
 
The swimming pools 
 
In the garden there are two swimming pools for guests' use, one for adults 14 X 6mt., and a round pool for children up to four years old.There is also a footpath from the garden which leads through the green Umbrian hills.

Casa Colonica has a large, well resturctured recreation room which reflects the overall style of the entire structure.  Cooking classes and dinners based on local produce are organised here for the guests. The hall is also used for wine tastings, upon guest request, and includes tasty hors d’oeurves. 
The dinners organised weekly for our guests differ from week to week in order to be able to offer the full range of available typical products.
