*** Michouat is situated in a quiet rural setting, just 3.5kms from the Bastide town of Trie sur Baïse, where there is amongst other facilities, a regular weekly market, Tourist Office,supermarket, pharmacy, doctor, dentist, bars and cafes. The 13th century Monastere de Calmes hosts a number of musical soirees throughout the year. Markets are held in many of the surrounding towns, offering local products such as Armagnac and Foie Gras. Trie has a week long fete in July, and antique fayres. There are many local routes for walkers and cyclists and a number of nearby lakes for fishermen. Pyrenees offers the active summer adventurer hiking, canyonning, paragliding, horseriding, whilst in the winter skiing and other sports. There are prehistoric caves, the sandy beaches of the Atlantic coast a day trip away, and the Spanish border is just an hours drive! The cosmopolitan town of Toulouse with the Canal du Midi running through it, and Pau with its chateau, chic shopping and parks just add to the many sites and scenes to be seen within an easy drive of your comfortable accommodation!
