The Property

Welcome to Nyala

Five thatched en suite Rondavels combined with the sheer intimate beauty of the lodge in its tranquil surroundings create the perfect setting for world-weary visitors. Guests are immersed in a true African environment as they savour mouth-watering South African cuisine and experience genuine hospitality from dedicated and caring staff.

All rooms are modestly furnished with tasteful ethnic décor and luxurious fabrics to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Overhead fans provide relief from insects at night and also help to keep the rooms cool from the heat of the day.

Views from the large windows in the Rondavels overlook beautifully kept gardens where small antelope are often found grazing.

Brown-headed Kingfisher, Grey Loerie, Hoopoe and Lilac-breasted Roller are all standard twin bedsuites situated in an arc around the tranquil gardens. The Little Bee Eater luxury double suite affords the added benefit of a view out on to the waterhole where game can be viewed all year round.

Shady trees and tranquil surroundings create the perfect atmosphere for relaxation. There is a prominent waterhole carefully positioned in front of the lodge and permanently floodlit. An elevated wooden viewing deck provides a wonderful opportunity to observe all kinds of wildlife visiting the waterhole.

The lodge features a tastefully decorated thatched lounge area overlooking the seasonal river bed, perfect for relaxing with a quiet drink whilst watching the sunset. Inside, ethnic furnishings adorn a spacious kitchen and dining room area which houses the bar and library.

As the lodge is deep in the heart of the reserve, it is surrounded by a secure fence to ensure the safety of guests at all times. Nyala is an eco friendly destination and has many measures in place to reduce the impact on the environment.

Personalised and moderately priced, the experience of Nyala will be etched in your memory forever.
