*** Peyras is a small hamlet under the commune of Chirac. We are situated inbetween Chirac and Exideuil (2km). Exideuil has a bar, post office, pharmacy, boulangerie and shop along with watersports on the River Vienne and tennis courts. Chabanais is 5km from us where there are many shops, bars, restaurants and tourist information office. Confolens is 15 minutes away where they have the Music Festival in August. Confolens is a bigger town and is very touristy, with old buildings and chateau - very pleasant to walk around or even down by the River Vienne where the also have water sports. St Junien is around 20 minutes from us where there are the bigger hypermarket stores. We have lakes with homemade beaches within 10 minutes from us with safe, designated areas for children to play and swim - there are also snack bars/restaurants there, so a good day out can be had by all! Or, a little further afield (35 mins approx) we have Oradour sur Glane, the famous village that was lost in the war. Many chateaux are in the area. Ideally located on the Charente/Limousin border, we can be reached within 35mins from either Limoges or Anguoleme Airports - both cities are well worth a visit for a day out.
