We are not a package holiday company, this is our own private villa, so you  have to book your own flights from whatever airport you prefer and at times that suit you. Whilst we leave you alone while you're on holiday  in our villa you're not totally abandoned as we do have our representatives to sort out any problems should they occur and to advise on excursions, car hire and local amenities should you need them to 
   
A car is not essential at Villa Karissa as much of what you should require is within walking distance. But remember the villa is in one of the quieter parts of Zante and night clubs and discos are not available. Should you feel the need for a lively night out, Argassi is a 15 minute drive away. Argassi has a strip of bars and restaurants to suite all ages.  
 
The Town of Zante & its fishing port is just a 30 minute drive away from the villa & is a must if you wish to see the culture of Zakynthos. Zante Town is the cultural centre of the island with a number of impressive museums & historical sites, busy coffee cafe's & restaurants that stretch along the entire length of the beautiful harbour & Marina. The back streets of Zante Town offer an array of colourful shops should you wish to buy a designer outfit or just pick up a local trinket to take back home. Zante Town truly is a magnificent place to visit!  
 
Zante is one of the most popular of the Greek islands. There is something for everyone in this island paradise with numerous sandy beaches, mountain villages preserving the traditional Greek way of life, beautiful natural scenery, watersports and good quality restaurants, bars and nightclubs. The locals welcome tourists with open arms and offer them the hospitality for which Greece is famous 
 
              About Villa Karissa 
 
Villa Karissa is located to the far south of the island surrounded by ancient olive terraces with views of the sea and mountainous countryside. Only a 5 minute walk to Gerakas Beach and its famous coast, stop for a cool drink on the way in one of three bars or tavernas or buy some provisions in the local mini market. Take a 10 minute stroll down to Porto Roma where more tavernas and a mini market can be found.  We are less than a 15 minute walk, or 5 minute drive, from the local village of Vasilikos where at least 10 tavernas, coffee bars & shops can be found on the way. This is why, in our opinion, Villa Karissa is situated in a perfect location 
 
The small village of Vasilikos itself boasts 8 tavernas, a coffee shop, mini markets, souvenir shops, car, scooter or cycle rental and its own delightful little Church. Three different beaches can be found along the way which host water sports, diving and pedalos etc. ideal for children to have fun, most have beach bars 
 
Only recently built and available to rent since May 2006. All three bedrooms have French windows leading out on to either your own patio terrace, with views to the swimming pool and garden, or your own balcony with views of the sea and surrounding countryside. The garden has its own covered pergola partially shaded by olive trees, borganvillias and jasmine. Relax under the shade of one of the olive trees in the garden, or feast using the large traditional stone built barbecue, with lighting for cool evening cooking and relaxation 
 
There is a large open-plan sitting and dining area with kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped with large fridge-freezer, microwave, oven and hob, dishwasher, many additional electrical cooking appliances and utensils. We have tried to ensure that any guests wishing to cook at home have everything available to them. We will soon be producing a list of shops in the area and what is available to buy there,  just to make life a little more comfortable, some will even deliver to your door! 
 
A separate utility room inside the villa, contains a washing machine, clothes horse, iron and ironing board, cleaning utilities, washroom stores and a guest safe.  
 
The 8 x 3.5 metre freshwater swimming pool is situated in front of the patio area and has plenty of room for the loungers and large sun umbrellas. An outdoor shower is also provided near the pool.  The extensive grounds are abound with shrubs, tropical trees and colourful flowers in clay pots. We have a small herb garden just below the kitchen window and various herbs can be found scattered around the garden. 
 
Due to the location and the amenities available to Villa Karissa, a car is not essential. Once you get comfortable with your surroundings you will find so many local people willing to assist you in arranging for a taxi, bike hire and local excursions. In view of the house having a raised terrace it is not ideally suited for young children and unfortunately we are unable to accommodate children under the age of 5 years
