Situated on the beautiful banks of the Beli Osam River, at the foot of the Central Balkans, stands the 135 year old town of Troyan. It is surrounded by majestic scenery, all in green and filled with the fragrance of wild geranium. Troyan (25,000 inhabitants) is an administrative, economic and cultural center of a municipality, situated 160km North-East from Sofia. The town of Troyan lies at 400 meters above sea level on the picturesque terraced banks of the Beli Ossam River, at the northern foot of Troyan_Kalofer part of Stara Planina (the Balkan) Mountain, not far from the Troyan pass.
