The gite has a communal fully enclosed garden, with outdoor furniture and barbecues. Our beautiful lake has many different ducks and moorhens, with a visiting king fisher there is always something new to see. The lake has many seating areas for relaxing, picnics, reading and painting.
Our local town is St Sauveur le Vicomte and is within easy walking distance. The market town of Valognes is a 15 minute drive away. The famous town of St Mere Eglise which was the first town to be liberated is only 25 minutes away, and the historic landing beaches and museums are a 40 minute drive.
In Saint-Sauveur-le-Vicomte and surrounding areas there are a whole range of events which include clay pigeon shooting, kayaking (sea or river), golf sailing, fishing, pony treking, petang, swimming pool, bird watching, escorted tours and wine tasting.
There are miles upon miles of other beautiful golden sand beaches which can be reached within 10 minutes and are on the west side of the peninsula. These include Carteret which also has an internationally used harbour which increases the wide range of restaurants and cafes from specialist fish restaurants to traditional French creperies.
St Sauveur le Vicomte hosts 3 restaurants, cafes, bakeries and small shops. It also has a large supermarket.
There are 3 local golf courses, a 9 hole in Brix, an 18 hole Omaha and 9 hole in St Germain. All within an half an hour drive.
