The Pyrennees and the Mediterranean are both just over an hour away whilst, nearby, the Canal du Midi offers shaded walking, cycling and boat hire.

The Property
As this is our second home rather than an investment property, it is comfortably furnished and well equipped. It is a three bedroomed house with an additional attached ground floor apartment for two. For more details see our website (www.pinkapple.fr) We only rent the whole property together but this set up allows greater privacy.
The garden is landscaped and has a large level area immediately outside the house with BBQ and plentiful garden furniture for 6+ people to lounge and dine in comfort. The rest of the garden includes planted terraces and a sloping meadow area with mature evergreens and offers secluded corners for guests.
Fanjeaux is a village of special historic interest (e.g. the Dominican movement and Cathar history) It has a cafe, restaurant and shops and is the starting point for many scenic walks. Please see our own website (www.pinkapple.fr) for further details and photographs of the village.
Larger market towns nearby offer comprehensive facilities and the area has numerous restaurants (all standards and prices) as well as excellent vineyards and sites of interest. The scenery is varied with the rich fertile Lauragais valley contrasting with the more rugged mountain areas as one approaches the Pyrenees, the Montaigne Noire and the coast.

*** Although Pomme Rose enjoys a quiet secluded setting it is conveniently situated for the main transport services (Motorway, rail and International Airports) giving great accessibility to the house and attractions throughout the region. The varied landscape and sites of historic interest provide the main attractions but wine lovers and gourmets will not be disappointed.
Toulouse is only an hour away and offers great sophistication, whilst Carcassonne is nearer and also has a lot of attractions. The area abounds with cultural festivals through July and August with the Carcassonne festival being much acclaimed.
The Canal du Midi is just 10 mins away offering shaded walks, cycle tracks, boat rides or cafes to sit with a glass of wine and watch others being active. There are numerous local signed walks with excellent views and many hill top sites (eg Montsegur and Rennes le Chateau) with both magnificent vistas and historic interest.
Further afield the Aude Valley has dramatic gorges and provides access to the Pyrenees whilst Andorra in the heart of the mountains is only two hours away. The charming port of Gruissan on the mediteranean coast is just an hour away whilst the Spanish border is less than two hours away.

Normally available Saturday to Saturday
Prices are shown for whole week bookings starting on a Saturday. They are based on occupancy of 6 or less. Bookings for more than 6 are possible but would involve a surcharge.
We will consider rentals for other periods (part weeks or midweek starts)but they will normally be more expensive because they limit the overall availability for most people.
More detailed information on Pomme Rose, local attractions, trips, restaurants and vineyards can be found in our own website, which also includes links to useful local tourist websites giving a comprehensive picture for those wanting more information.
