The house is converted to the highest standards,as a holiday home, set in a tiny hamlet of ten houses in South West France. Our visitors say it has a homely feeling about it, unlike impersonal hotels.The house is completely secluded, set in two acres of gardens and woods, and surrounded by vineyards producing wine, cognac, and our local aperitif pineau des charentes, made from a mixture of the two.

We are close to Royan, Saintes, Cognac, The famous vineyards of Bordeaux and the Medoc, are accessible by ferry from Royan. There is excellent shopping in Saintes and Royan .There is a large supermarket in Gemozac, just eight minutes away, also a Lidls. Local restaurants are excellent and very reasonably priced. Our nearby restaurant in St-Andre-de-Lidon , has menus starting at 12euros, or just pizzas! , ! They also have an outside terrasse.Cravans has an excellent lunchtime restaurant, which has a four course menu with wine for 13 euros!. Also in Gemozac is La Florentine pizza restaurant/take away, very good! The Caravelle restaurant has good value food also. The Lion D'Or hotel has excellent lunch menu at 11.5euros slightly more expensive food in evenings..Royan has many fine restaurants. St.Andre has ageneral store, a bakery and post office. 
 
Five minutes from the house is the beautiful fishing lake L'Etang de Brousses This really is a lovely spot to while away the hours! Set in 2 hectares, with a bar and restaurant serving excellent, reasonably priced meals.Fishing is 7 euros a half day.Rods available. 
 
The beach at St-Georges-de-Didonne is about twenty minutes, with its beautiful sand, and the Acapulco bar/restaurant serving moules, and lovely salads and ice creams. Sit here and watch your children enjoying the beach whilst you relax! just a few yards away.

Changeover: Saturdays in season arriving after 3pm, leaving 10am. Linen included in price, also house towels. A non-returnable deposit of 25% required on booking. A security/accident deposit will also be required. Rental dates can be flexible out of the main holiday season, and could commence on any weekday. Full payment due three months after initial deposit. Cancellations: refunds can only be made if we are able to re-let the property for the same period. 
A charge will be made if the house is not left in a clean condition. 
Children must be supervised at all times whilst using the pool. 
Visitors must have personal accident insurance, particularly for the 
use of pool or bicycles.
