The Property
The stone, brick and adobe construction of our modern, yet traditionally styled home assures our guests of the color, flare and feeling of a Mexican home, yet you are assured of no cultural surprises ... there is an abundance of hot water for showering, unlimited purified drinking water, and the little things such as microwave, coffee maker, and other "essential" kitchen appliances; the use of our modest yet helpful library; comfortable furnishings; and your hosts as your knowledgable and congenial resource people, available at all times to provide assistance and advice, the goal being to make your visit to Oaxaca and its central valleys as culturally rich an experience as possible. Tour guiding services and cooking classes are amongst the services and perks we provide.

For young children we have a good crib with accessories, high chair and car seat.
You have as much privacy as you wish, yet with your Canadian hosts always available to assist you in your planning, and with your needs and wishes.
Your host is an experienced tour guide who custom plans routes for his guests, often touring many off-the-beaten-track sites not customarily visited by most guides.
In the unlikely event of the need for medical help, other emergency assistance, matters relating to luggage, issues which crop up from back home, etc., we are available to provide help and guidance.
We endeavour to stay abreast of all upcoming cultural events.
*** Our home is a ten minute drive from the heart of downtown Oaxaca, its zocalo. We gratuitously drive our guests to the downtown local of their choice weekday mornings. Within a couple of blocks of the house there is public transportation, and in fact one of our neighbors is a taxi driver who is usually available to our guests. Within a couple of blocks there are corner variety stores, with larger grocery stores several blocks away. There are restaurants and smaller eateries in the neighborhood. All of the major ruins, craft villages and market towns are easily accessible from the house, and of course the downtown core of Oaxaca is only minutes away with its plethora of cafes and restaurants, art galleries, museums and colonial churches.
