19th centuary converted barn with pool in Lezay
Our recently converted barn offers spacious accomadation .It has been designed to provide flexible accommodation and has retained many of its original features including exposed stone walls and oak beams.We are located close to the tranquil town of Lezay with its large weekly market, good restaurants, large outdoor swimming pool, park and fishing lake. Set in the heart of the Poitou Charente its an ideal base to explore this beautiful region

The Property
Our 19th centuary barn has been designed to provide comfortable spacious accomadation. It is based on our organic smallholding and is set in a large garden and has a private solar heated swimming pool 10 metres by 5 metres. The pool is fully fenced off and is above ground for added security.
The barn has also been designed to accommodate wheelchair users with light switches/plugs at 1m height and doors 1 m wide. The downstairs bedroom is spacious allowing for easy access and the wet room/wc has been designed for wheelchair access. Please contact us if you require any further information.
A welcome pack is provided on your arrival day and this will usually include bread, cheese, milk, seasonal fruit from the garden and of course a bottle of wine for you to enjoy a sunset on the large terrace.

Lezay has much to offer whether you want quiet strolls around the lake and park, relaxing by the riverbank fishing with a picnic whilst watching all the wild life. There is also a small historic agricultural museum, For the more active there is a local riding stables situated near by.
In the town there is an outdoor swimming complex with baby pool, childrens pool and large pool with diving boards. There are tennis courts boules and petanque pitches.
Close to Lezay it the town of Melle famous for the silver mines. Silver was mined here for hundreds of years and the first silver coin was produced for king Charlemagne. In Melle there are also walks (Les chemins de decouvert) 3 Romanesque churches, a weekly market and restaurants.
Poitiers is approximately 50 kms away and is a city of culture with many Abbeys, Cathedrals, and Churches.Feast your eyes on the beutiful architecture, Elanour of Aquataine lived here for many years
Futuroscope,a high tech attraction park with state of the art video cinemas and shows. A great day out for the family
The valley of the monkeys is a great place for all ages to visit, mingle with the monkeys, lemurs and other animals who roam free around the land
The venise vert charming canals of green , hire a punt and travel the waterways for the day.
The aquarium at La Rochelle is a fantastic aquatic journey exploring the worlds sea life. Walk on top of jelly fish, or underneath the sharks ! walk through the rainforest and end your day in any of the famous sea food restaurants in the historic port of La Rochelle.

Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds.Changeover day is Saturday however this may be flexible for late bookings. The accommodation wil be ready for 4 pm on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 10am on the day of departure.
A deposit of £100 will confirm your booking with the balance payable 8 weeks before arrival or full payment for any bookings taken within 8 weeks f arrival. A refundable deposit against breakages of £100 is required on the day of arrival and will be refunded on the day of departure.
