Standing in 40 acres of grounds, Château Sentout overlooks the garonne river valley. This peaceful retreat is perfectly located for visits to the famous wine growing areas of St Emilion, Medoc, Graves ... Less than one hours drive from the coast, this former wine producing château has been carefully renovated to provide confortable, well appointed accomodation around a central courtyard.Central heating, aircon, wifi, wine tasting.

The Property
The Bakehouse-Le Fournil is a large cottage with a tower, adjacent to the family chapel and formerly the bakehouse for the château.
Three bedrooms,1 double, 1 twin, 1 tiny single, 2 bathrooms and 2 wc. Lounge with wood oven, private terrace with wiew to the garonne river valley, dining room with table and chairs, sideboard, old wood cooker, separate kitchen and private garden in the orchard, central heating and aircon, satellite TV, Wifi.
Chateau Sentout has a large heated swimming pool with protection fence and shallow end for children.
Cycles, mountain bikes, table tennis, badminton, basket ball, game of bowls (boules), nearby tennis (free), golf, canoeing and horse riding are available. On request: baby sitting, video, telephone, fax. The chapel provides a haven to listen to classical music.
Le Fournil has its own garden with barbecue and two garden furnitures.
Kitchen with hot plates, oven, kettle, microwave, coffee machine, dish washer, washing machine, and fridge-freezer.
It is furnished in classic rural French style, sofas, armchairs and modern new matresses. Linen is provided as well as cots, folding beds, play pen, high chairs. There is a children’s safety gate in the stairs.
In addition to Le Fournil, other apartments or cottages in the same courtyard could be provided for 2 to 8 people.

Our spacious 12 x 7 heated pool opens from 15 April to 15 October, depending on the weather, it is surrounded by a protective fence, in the middle of a beautiful meadow with palm trees, sun terrace, swings, badminton . There is a shallow end for children.
Five minutes away from us, across the D10 road, on the lake of Baurech, is a water-ski station to be used both by beginners or champions.
Four bicycles and six mountain bikes are available for guest's use of which one has a baby seat.There are car-free circuits though the pine forest along the coast and plenty of quiet, safe roads round the château..
The fifty acres of beautiful grounds provide a wide variety of walks and we provide maps and information. Horse riders can enjoy trekking through the forest and vineyards.
You can play table-tennis, badminton, boules and basketball by the pool and there are (free) tennis courts a mile, down the road in Tabanac. We can provide all the equipment free.
Atlantic beaches and the bay of Arcachon are within an hour’s drive, with miles of sandy beaches. The sand dune at Le Pyla with its surprising desert landscape is the highest in Europe and is a great favourite with families.
There are well over 8 excellent golf courses within an hour by car around Bordeaux and over 15 in whole Aquitaine. We provide full information about them: address, holes, greens, fees, booking, restaurants etc...
Canoeing is available on local rivers, fully equipped with canoes, kayaks and training courses. Over 40 miles of circuits on 3 shady rivers.
Many famous painters and writers lived locally and you can visit the châteaux of Montaigne, Montesquieu, Mauriac and Toulouse-Lautrec as well as renowned wine chateaux..
Local cuisine may be prepared on request and brought to you for a modest charge. Numerous restaurants around château Sentout offer a good variety of French cuisine, children are accepted in every restaurant and special children menus are served in most of them.
