Cala’n Porter was one of the first holiday resorts to be developed on the island and has something to offer everyone. Situated on the south coast and only 10 minutes away from the airport, it has a lovely sandy horseshoe shaped bay which is ideal for swimming or simply for relaxing while the young children build their sand castles. For the older family members there is plenty of firm sand towards the back of the beach for ball games. Pedalos, beach umbrellas and loungers are available for hire and on the paved promenade there are restaurants to provide meals, drinks and snacks.  
In the centre of the resort there are several supermarkets which provide all your everyday requirements and when you just want to eat out you will find a large variety of restaurants all within walking distance. 
Mahon, the capital of Menorca, is only a 15 min car ride away and for those who want to forget about driving there is an hourly bus service. It’s waterfront provides a picturesque setting with many visiting yachts & ferries.  
It also offers harbour boat trips with English commentary about the harbour, which is one of the largest in the world, and its British past. There are many fashion boutiques & smart restaurants in which to while away the time. 
Many other parts of the island are well worth visiting from the expansive beaches on both the north & the south coasts where water sports thrive to bird sanctuaries and beautiful country walks for those who have an interest in the ecology. On the west of the island is Ciutadella, the former capital, which has a cathedral and many elegant public buildings fronting a town with traditional narrow streets.
