The river provides beaches for swimming activities within 2 minutes walk of the house.
Lagrasse is set in the Pyrenean foothills within 45 minutes of the Mediterranean coast.

The Property
The house, at 6, Rue de la Porte d'eau, comfortably sleeps 6 persons, is beautifully situated overlooking the river Orbieu and the ancient Abbaye de Lagrasse. There is a double bedroom, a bunk bedroom and optional double sleeping space on the 1st floor.
The house comfortably sleeps 6 persons.
The accommodation is on three floors.
Ground floor: a porch entrance, well equipped kitchen with dining area and a w.c.
First floor: living room and balcony with option to separate rear area as bedroom.
Second floor: 2 bedrooms and bathroom.
There is also access from the ground floor to the basement-cave, used for storage and freezer.
Stair access from the second floor leads to the roof terrace with magnificent views of the Orbieu valley.
The porch area provides the opportunity for alfresco dining.
We do not have internet access.
We operate a non smoking policy in the house.

Lagrasse is one of the most beautiful villages in France, situated in the Aude department in the region of Languedoc-Roussillon. It is set in the foothills of the Pyrenees in an area renowned for its wine making - Corbieres. The village is famed for its Abbey -St Marie d'Orbieu founded in 799, and its mediaeval streets, buildings and humpbacked bridges over the River Orbieu. The surrounding area is fantastic for walking and exploring. The Mediterranean coast is about 40 - 50 minutes away by car.

The closest train station is Lezignan. TGV trains run to Narbonne.
